Discipleship Pathway

A follower is someone who has responded to the gospel, been baptized and is now seeking to obey Jesus’ teachings and commands.

The main distinction between a believer and follower is that a follower has moved beyond being a passive believer and they regularly take the initiative to grow spiritually and obey Jesus. Followers understand the importance of growing in the knowledge of the Christian faith AND they are seeking to live out those truths in their daily lives.

In order to keep growing and to live fruitful lives, Followers should seek to get involved in ministry opportunities both within the church and in the community. At Redemption a good place to start is by filling out our Connect Card to let us know some areas you may be interested in serving in.

Followers will also find it extremely beneficial to explore different Small Groups. Here’s a list of the ones happening at Redemption Church: Small Groups

Note: occasionally people will be living their lives as Followers, or even Disciples (the next stage of spiritual growth) BUT they have not been baptized. Those Christians should still be considered Followers or Disciples, but they should also seek to be baptized as soon as possible.
