Discipleship Pathway

Although, in the truest sense of these words, all believers are called disciples and disciples can certainly be proud to call themselves believers. But what this tool (The Discipleship Pathway) is seeking to do is to give names to the more obvious stages of growth that we go through as we seek to follow Jesus.

In this sense, a disciple is a mature Christian who lives a life of self-sacrifice for the sake of the Kingdom of Christ. Disciples have responded to the gospel and have been baptized. They have take the initiative to mature spiritually and have learned the import truths of the Christian faith. Furthermore, they have put those truths into action in their daily lives. And now their focus is on living as selfless of a life as they can in order to make disciples of other people and to advance the gospel.

If you are in this stage of spiritual growth, your focus should be on investing in OTHERS. Many Disciples find it helpful to write down the names of the people they interact with regularly. Then write down where you think they are in their spiritual growth. After you’ve done that, ask yourself what you can do to help them grow. How can you help them take the next step?
